Abstract
In this paper, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) are used to rank a set of DMU, in order of the efficiency scores obtained. Application conditions and consistency are tested between different ranks. Data set is a sample of Spanish saving banks in the period 2002-2007. The ranking of DMUs obtained by means of PCA´s application is valid with respect to the resultant with the analysis of superefficiency and in addition the problem of unfeasibility that can appear in the application of the DEA is avoided.
