Abstract

An evaluation of an electrophoretic analysis was carned out to estimate the value of this method as a diagnostic iechnic versus the classical ones: semm agglutination (SAT). 2-mercaptoethanol (ME)and complement fixation test (CFT). Serum fractions alfa-l. beta-2 with total proteins and total globulins reach amounts signifícantly higher in individuals with bnicellosis detected through ME or SAT. ln CFT. albumin, alfa-l and beta-2 globulins are the significative fractions. The centered data analysis shows no differentiation between positive individuals according to the results of the electrophoretic method. Through the discriminating analysis, it is noticed that the percentages of individuals detected as negative, suspicious or positive by means of the electrophoretic method are not coincident with those reported by each of the serological tests.
