Zusammenfassung

Carmen Condes poetic work exhibits the most relevant literary trends of her time. From 1929 till 1939, the authoress develops a personal symbolism concerning the impressionist representation of Nature (Brocal), the imaginative intensity related to daily objects (Júbilos), or the tragic experience due to Spanish Civil War (Mientras los hombres mueren). Her lyric programme is defi ned by the equilibrium between external features of Modernity and a sort of Humanism embracing the wholeness of a life dedicated to poetry.
