Abstract
Two new saxicolous lichen communities in the coastal ranges of Cádiz (S of Spain) and Tanger (N of Morocco) are described. The first one (Pertusarietum mammoso-gallicae) is usually found on vertical or subvertical northern surfaces. This association is silicicolous, hygrophilous, thermophilous, photophilous, more or less nitrophilous, and more or less ombrophilic. The second one (Lecanactino-Dirinetum sorediatae) grows on northern, scarcely or not at all sunny rock cavities and small caves. This association is silicicolous, aerohygophilous, ombrophobic, heliphobic, scarcely nitrophilous and halotolerant.
