Résumé

One of the explanatory factors of the little technological effort made by the industry of the Region of Murcia is its high specialisation in certain traditional manufactures. For that reason, one of the basic aims of the regional industrial policy has been to attract foreign companies with intensive technology. Apart from several successful episodes, these companies have not increased the R+D activities of the regional industrial sector significantly. In the area of the technological policy, this fact emphasizes the relevance of the economic resources directed to the regional agro-alimentary complex (greater to the primary activities than to the industrial ones) and the experience of technological centers linked to relevant endogenous and traditional branches of our manufacturing sector. Key words: Industry, technological intensity, industrial policy, technological policy, innovation system.
