Resumen

New technology applied to education represents a teaching content in teacher training. The practical teaching experience that has been going on indifferent schools since 1985 has prompted the inclusion of this area of study in the teacher training curriculum. The objectives of this new discipline imply a reflexive and critical type of training which provides the basis for the methodological possibilities offered both by computers and by audiovisual media as far as curriculum development is concerned. Training teachers in the design and production of new technology in education makes sense if it is contemplated within the realm of school change and the improvement in the quality of education. For that reason it is necessary clarify the use of such methodological media techniques and to outline their possibilities and strategies in the curriculum areas of Infant and Primary Education.
