Resumo

Antimicrobials are the main treatment against contagious agalactiae (CA) outbreaks.Nevertheless, during the last years an increase in the antimicrobial resistance of differentspecies of mycoplasma has been reported. In this sense, the knowledge of quinoloneresistance mechanism in M. agalactiae (Ma), the main CA causative agent, reaches largeinterest. Therefore, the present study, analyzed the partial sequences of gyrA, gyrB, parCand parE genes of different Ma strains isolates with different quinolones MIC values. Thus,mutations in parC positions 80 and 84 proved to be related with quinolone resistance andits analysis could provide rapid information about antimicrobial susceptibility in Ma fieldisolates.
