Abstract

In this study it was determined the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) of 17 antimicrobials on 37 goat isolates of Mycoplasma mycoidessubsp. capri from milk (n=19) or external ear canal (n=16), and tworeference strains. Overall, no differences in sensitivity depending on theorigin of the isolate was observed. The most efficacy antimicrobials were(MIC90 < 1 μg/ml), fluoroquinolones except norfloxacin for milk isolates, doxicycline, tylosine and clindamicine. Other macrolides did not showsuch efficacy, standing out erythromycin (MIC90 >12,8 μg/ml), whichsuggests the presence of an acquired resistance to this antimicrobial.Lincomicine showed greater efficacy over ear strains (MIC90 = 0,8 μg/ml) than over milk ones (MIC90 = 3,2 μg/ml). All aminoglycosides showedMIC90 > 32 μg/ml for both type of isolates, which suggests an inneficacyas a treatment for the infection.
