Abstract

The aim of this work was to perform the molecular typing of strainsisolated from spanish herds of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri(Mmc) and Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capricolum (Mcc), two ofthe four etiological agents of caprine contagious agalactia. Evolutivestudy of the isolates of cluster mycoides was performed by sequencingthe house-keeping gene fusA. Whether identical sequences in Mccstrains were observed, five types of sequences were present among thecollectives studied, and also differences within them were detected. Thisgenetic plasticity of Mmc could have consequences on the control of theinfection, which should be necessary to evaluate and to consider in thefuture.
