Abstract

The aim of the present work was to analyze the seasonal changes ofsperm parameters throughout the year in Malagueña breed bucks maintained intheir originating latitude (37º N). Our findings showed a seasonal effect onsperm concentration (P<0.01), with values in summer higher that autumn andwinter. Maximum concentrations were observed in September (4.221x106spz/ml) and minimum concentrations in December (2.010x106 spz/ml). Despitethe seasonal influence, which firstly occurred on sperm concentration, our datarevealed that Malagueña breed bucks showed a good sperm quality through theyear.
