Resum

The possibility of using milk samples from different sampling schedulesfor the diagnosis of contagious agalactia (AC) will increase their value. In thisstudy the effect of the different preservation methods used in the differentsampling schedules on goats milk (Azidiol AZ, Bronopol BR and nonpreservative SC), temperature and storage time, was determinated on thesurvey of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides biotype LC (MmmLC).Preservative used, storage temperature, as well as interaction amongtemperature and storage time affects significantly the variation of Log UFC/ml.of MmmLC. The low reduction on the MmmLC counts in samples preservedwith BR allows using preservatives in milk samples for the diagnosis of ACbased in the isolation of MmmLC. Storage temperature represents the mainvariation factor in the MmmLC counts, causing a progressive descent in thesurvey of the pathogen in samples frozen through time, which must be takenaccount for the microbiological diagnosis in these samples.
