Strains belonged to Mycoplasma species well known as pathogenic(subsp. mycoides LC and capri of M mycoides, Group 7, arginini, and mainly M.agalactiae) found shelter into apparently healthy Spanish ibex (Caprapyrenaica). Infections due to M. agalactiae are slight frequents in those, butoccur on wild goat metapopulations from different locations in the Betic range;occasionally as clinic disease even epidemic. On the opposite, M conjunctivae(MC) infections are infrequent in Spanish ibex, but can show site-specific andseasonal occurrence, as in Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas NaturalPark. There MC infects all wild ruminant species, cervids (red deer, fallow deer),wild goats and, mainly, wild sheep, and every year generate a rapid onset ofkeratoconjunctivitis cases in wild ram more than Spanish ibex males associatedto mating season.
