Samples from synovial fluid aseptically taken were sent to ourlaboratory to investigate a clinical case of arthritis in a fifteen days old goat.Conventional bacteriological and specific mycoplasma analyses were carriedout to find out the pathogen involved. A pure culture of Mycoplasma spp wasisolated, and no other bacteria were involved in the samples. The Mycoplasmaisolated was biochemically identified as Mycoplasma arginini. This is the firsttime that M. arginini has been reported as causative agent of arthritis in a goatkid.
