In this paper, a novel system to obtain the vegetation cover on an unattended, simple and automatic way is presented. It is composed of a set of low-cost camera modules that communicate with a cloud-computing server. The server after receiving and processing performing computer vision algorithms determines an estimate of water requirements, storing all data in a secure database in a web portal.
