Resumen

In this paper we have analyzed, from the perspective of misogyny, a collection of tales of oriental origin that appeared in Spain in the second half of the 13th century known as Sendebar. We have tried to verify if all its content had or not misogynistic character. For this, we have carried out first a philological and historical study of the work, following the literary approach that we have previously defined and in which three essential critical movements are considered: the esthetics of reception, literary orientalism and textual deconstruction. Afterwards, the work has been analyzed according to the typology of the female characters that appear in them, being able to conclude that, although mostly are misogynists, there are stories that break with this tradition and describe female characters in which their qualities and values are enhanced.
