Abstract

The general objective of the work was to analyze the relationship between self-perceived socio-emotional competence, emotional intelligence, psychosocial risk behaviors and the intellectual level (IQ) of a group of minors subject to judicial measures of internment in an educational center, located in the Region of Murcia, The instruments used were: a) Inventory of Emotional Intelligence EQ-i: YV (Bar-On & Parker, 2000); b) The MayerSalovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) (Extremera and Fernández-Berrocal, 2009); c) Scale 2 of the Intelligence Test Factor «g» (Cattell, and Cattell 1994); c) Clinical Inventory for Adolescents of Millon (MACI), (Millon, 2004). The results show significant correlations between intrapersonal intelligence and emotional comprehension. As well as significant correlations between the variables of stress management and adaptability with several of the analyzed psychosocial risk behaviors, except between adaptability and predisposition to delinquency. Finally, indicate that intelligence presents statistically significant correlations with the variables of perception, facilitation and emotional understanding of emotional intelligence
