A morphological and osteometric analysis of bovine bone remains found at the C/ Marsilla nº12 deposits (Lorca, Murcia) was carried out. This is a site with an age of 4060 ± 30 B.P. calibrated to 2500-2600 B.C. corresponding to the final period of the Copper Age. The number of remains studied amounted to 484, from at least 14 individuals, with representation from all bodily although prevalence of spine and limbs with regions. Most of the analyzed bones correspond to samples of domestic beef small/medium height whose were slaughtered aged between 15-60 months of age. It is emphasized the existence of bones belonging to two large specimens whose biometric study indicates that they are adult specimens of uro (Bos primigenius). The existence of anthropic marks on some of the bones studied indicates patterns of food use in various individuals. In some phalanges of larger specimens exostoses and deformation have been observed that could be related to the use of these animals for tasks of force or traction. Finally, the data show the importance of cattle in the Region of Murcia in prehistoric times 4500 years ago and provide information on some morphological, morphometric and use of this type of cattle during the Chalcolithic period. On the other hand, the presence of uros in the burial raises the hypothesis of the possible cross between native bovine cattle and domestic cattle.
