Abstract

Multiple studies address the prevalence of violent behaviour in schools as well as those factors associated with it. The models place attitudes towards violence as an indicator of risk for the manifestation of such behaviours. The objective of this study is to explore the psychometric properties of the reduced version of the Attitudinal Beliefs to Violence Questionnaire (CAHV-25) in Primary and Secondary Education students, proposing it as a screening tool that allows a rapid exploration of the phenomenon. Method: Psychometric study obtaining the adjustment indicators of Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis in Primary and Secondary children of the Region of Murcia (Spain). Results: The two dimensions show adequate psychometric properties in its reduced version. Cut-off scores are obtained that facilitate its interpretation. Conclusions: The proposed version maximizes the detection of attitudes towards school violence and thus addresses possible cases of school violence in a preventive way.
