Abstract

In the present study, we studied the variation in fish distribution of Doñana since 1975. Fish community is composed by at least 36 species: 28 natives and 8 exotics. The distribution area of exotic species rose up. The number of exotic species per UTM increased throughout time, while this variation was not detected in the case of the native. The cases of Carassius spp. and Ameiurus melas that firstly appeared in the study area in 2005 and 2009 respectively are highlighted. Moreover, four vulnerable species disappeared from the study area in the last years: Gasterosteus gymnurus, Iberochondrostoma lemmingii, Squalius alburnoides y Squalius pyrenaicus.
