Abstract
There are some misconceptions about the study and learning at university, for example, that any method is valid to study and learn effectively or consider the student as a subject isolated that works with his study materials without contacting other students. In this paper, an activity with a group of students from the subject Energy and Sustainability of the Master in Chemical Engineering containing elements of Education Centered Learning Models and specifically models based on Professional Skills is shown. So, part of the course is taught in a practical way, in a pilot plant of production of biodiesel in supercritical conditions. In this way, students have been placed in an environment that facilitated the development of some of their skills as engineers. The activities are structured in different tasks allowing to organize the work of students in different roles and to test different skills, which were qualitatively analyzed by the teachers to check their adequacy, showing satisfactory results.
