Abstract
If we demand the abolition of wars and the configuration of societies constituted by intercultural identities in harmony, are we demanding chimeras? Are these demands necessary illusory orientations? It is not only the history and the ambivalence of their interpretation that justify that these questions are legitimate, it is the issue of the borders between countries, between cultures, between people today and their historical union to the demands of thinkers and activists that leads us to direct this reflection. It is increasingly necessary to learn to live in a cultural diversity and to incorporate a cosmopolitan identity. A national identity and the defense of nationalism are emotions which are part of patriarchal societies. Central Europe, unfortunately, has been a precursor in the search for national identities, proof of that gross and violent nationalism are xenophobic policies and world wars, but also an example of resistance movements. In South Tyrol during the inter-war period, several women defended their feelings of intercultural identities by suffering grievances. Among these women is Angela Nikoletti. She was born into a working family and succeeded in becoming a teacher in her first language, German, which transformed her, in the eyes of the Italian nationalists of the area, into an enemy of Italy, which at the time was fascist and which she considered her nation. We will study this teacher-poet, who is a symbol of resistance.
