Introduction: Childhood obesity has become a health problem affecting significantly the Spanish school. This study has the objective to monitor the number of steps per session of the session of Health Program 5-10, and check what percentage of the current recommendations for physical activity are met based on the number of steps a day. Material and Methods: 20 school children aged 5-10 years participated in the study. Inclusion criteria was established to participate in a 70% or more of the sessions. Schoolchildren were divided into 2 working groups. A pedometer "ONstep 100" was used by the school for quantifying levels of physical activity. Results and conclusions: an average of 7,265.9 steps / session was observed, representing 66.05% of the number of steps a school should make for a day if you take into account the lower limit of the recommendation (11.000 steps/day) and 44,03% if one considers the upper limit of the recommendation (16.500 steps/day).
