Introduction. Psychosocial factors are those conditions of the working environment that are directly related to some working organizational aspects as the workplace content, the task accomplishment, and the environmental surroundings, this may affect the worker's job development and their health. Objective. Describing working population in Murcia's Health Service's intensive care units by analyzing psychosocial risk factors, the job satisfaction level and sleepiness, by linking lifestyle habits, health conditions and demographic variables. Method. This research applies a non-comparative or prevalence, transversal, descriptive, observational methodology. The target population involve workers who take part in intensive care units in public hospitals that meet inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research has been developed over a sample of 440 people including nurses, nurse assistants and intensive care physicians. ISTAS21 Questionnaire has been taken into account during this research, S10/12 Job Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Epworth's Sleepiness Scale. Results. They present the psychosocial risks unfavorably rated in most of the dimensions around every group in psychosocial risk, in a situation of occupational dissatisfaction about physical ambient, supervision and features, prevailing a high level of daytime sleepiness. Discussion. Job satisfaction level and health worker's psychosocial risks in intensive care units offers very harmful levels for the workers of this service due to the stressors surrounding their activity. Conclusions. Organizational issues has to be attended in order to improve the elements that may affect in a negative way ending up in psychosocial risks and labor dissatisfaction, just because the impact they might cause to workers can harm their health and the sanitary outcome.
