Resum

Although the debates in Spain regarding gender identity policies have taken place within the framework of the processing of the Draft Law for the Real and Effective Equality of Trans People and for the Guarantee of the Rights of LGTBI People approved in June 2021, fifteen regional laws aimed at «trans» people have been discreetly approved between 2014 and 2022 by political parties that now show their opposition to this draft law. Through a detailed review of all these laws, from a comparative, sociocultural and gender perspective approach, we examine what has been the role of political parties in this draft law and in the regional laws, and we analyze the concept of «gender» in these regulations and its relationship with feminist theory, highlighting the existing confusion and contradictions.
