Abstract
The development of knowledge management systems is currently an strategical organizational issue. The main aim of this thesis was the need for solutions to acquire the knowledge needed to build them. The solution here proposed is based on the enhancement of the integration processes of explicit knowledge. This would make more efficient the development of knowledge management systems. This objective has been achieved through the following activities: Definition and formalization of a framework for integrating ontologies Design and implementation of a software tool for the cooperative development of ontologies Validation of the ontology building methodology Evaluation of the quality of the ontologies built through integration processes Evaluation of the usefulness of integration processes
