Abstract

Objetive. - Develop a classification of primary open-angle glaucoma that places us in its evolutionary phase, that is reproducible and understandable. Materials. - We worked with 991 patients, divided into two groups, a study group made up of 226 patients and another control group consisting of 765 individuals. A complete ophthalmological examination was performed and the variables obtained in the BMO-MRW rings and peripapillary rings in their sectors G-TI-T-TS-N-NS-NI and at the level of the macula on the 34 cells of 1*1 were worked on. mm provided by SD-OCT Spectralis. Algorithms are applied for their classification. Results. - We obtain a clinical-evolutionary classification of four stages and an application for its calculation using only seven of the variables through classification algorithms. The macula using neural networks, linear discriminant analysis, and logistic regression cannot classify with good sensitivity. Conclusions. - We propose a classification by POAG stages, which is reproducible, practical and understandable by the patient and serves as a common language for all glaucoma actors.
