Resumo

The aim of this work is to know how important is for the pupils their responsibility in their Physical Education assessment. In order to do so, a scale has been established and validated as a measurement instrument: «Scale of student's responsibility in the Physical Education assessment» (ERAEEF).Different samples have been used for each stage of its preparation (231, 257, and 1.087 pupils of 10 and 11 years of age). After different Anovas and Manovas, ten-yearold pupils attach more importance to their responsibility in the result of the assessment and perceive that they play a more active role in the process than eleven-year-old pupils do. Practicing sports on a regular basis outside school stands out as a determining factor that makes pupils attach more importance to their responsibility in the result of the assessment. But, in general, the analysed sample shows that pupils neither value their responsibility in the result of the assessment nor consider their role in this process as a participatory role
