Resumen

Introduction: stroke is one of the main causes of death and disability in adults. Stroke prevalence is increasing due to population aging. Assessment methods carried out so far must be improved for the correct therapeutic approach of the patients. Mobile phone use has increased in the last years. Mobile applications offer a viable, cost-effective and accessible solution. Objectives: to perform an initial adaptation of the POMA scale for Spanish people with stroke. Make an initial version of an app to manage that scale. Materials and Methods: the study includes 153 persons with average age of 70.9 (SD=13) years and with chronic stroke. This study examined the reliability, concurrent validity, and minimal detectable change (MDC), among others. Making an app using the MIT App Inventor 2 platform. Results: POMA scale has obtained positive results in all psychometric properties. The POMA scale scores were moderately correlated (r=0.820) to FAC score. MDC was 1.095 points, so a subject must change ±1.095 points to declare a real change. Escala de Tinetti app has been published in Google Play. Discussion: we suggest future studies with more participants to obtain definitive conclusions. Future versions of the Escala de Tinetti app can improve function and design. Conclusions: the POMA scale is a reliable and valid tool for Spanish population with chronic stroke. Escala de Tinetti app is a useful tool for professional daily clinical.
