Abstract

Currently, teachers demand specific training and organized methodological systems appropriate to the specialty they teach, to promote the achievement of meaningful learning for all students. In the case of the double bass, which requires its own methodology, based on the reality of the classroom and the peculiarities of the instrument, the need is essential. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze and verify the applicability to current teaching of the methodologies for double bass from the main European Schools and of specialized methods in teaching from an early age. This research was approached through a mixed approach, with the study and analysis of the cited manuals and interviews with double bass players and specialized teachers. We conclude that the observed manuals guide technical content in a thorough way and may be applicable as a methodological basis. Also, they guide us in children's education, laying the methodological bases of educational and philosophical foundation, but as a whole they require that the teacher update, sequence and use their own pedagogical methodology. For all these reasons, the presentation of the index of a specific double bass manual is made as a proposal for improvement, which considers learning from diversity focused on the professional future.
