Impulsividad motora como predictor de las actitudes hacia la violencia en adolescentes

Impulsiveness is a trait of personality that contributes to aggressive behavior. It is an important moderator of violence, and because of that, it can influence the attitudes that adolescents have towards it. Spontaneous, emotional and impulsive aggressive behavior is more common than premeditated behavior. The objective of this work is to study the influence that motor impulsiveness has in adolescents' attitudes towards violence. We present a cross-sectional study with a sample of 1041 students, between 1st and 4th year of secondary education. We used a questionnaire that included Barratt's and CAVH-28 scales of attitudes. We obtained a positive correlation between motor impulsiveness and the factors of attitudes towards violence, and we also obtained significant differences between the lower last trimester qualification and the higher attitudes. The predictive model showed that motor impulsiveness and last trimester qualification influence in the factors of attitudes with a moderated model fit. Knowing that motor impulsiveness is a factor with high influence in attitudes toward violence in adolescents can help us to understand it and to develop strategies to control the violence through the impulsiveness control.
