Abstract

The educational system, and with him, Physical Education and curricular and extracurricular school sports in Mexico have evolved parallel to social changes and scientific advances. Many studies have been explaning such changes; however, few those who address specifically to Physical Education and school sports in Mexico. We find documentary references, like those carried out by the Mexican Council of Educational Research (COMIE, 2007) and, in more recent times, the doctoral theses: “Physical Education in the Mexican educational system: evaluation and prospective” (“Ileana Lozano López, 2009), “The vicious circle of Physical Education in Mexico: COLIMA, a state of the question” (Rossana Tamara Medina Valencia, 2012) and “The training of the Physical Education teacher in Mexico: need for a trunk body” (Graciela Hoyos Ruiz, 2015). From the contributions of the previous documents and another, an analysis is built, in which the variables are included: conceptualizations, perceptions, guidelines, policies, social agents and institutions that intervene in sports, experts, students and parents of family. The document is integrated by two sections: the first ―historical score― is characterized by analyzing the Mexican educational system, the training of the Physical Education teacher, the state of the academic and social issues in Physical Education and school sports and programs of previous and current Physical Education. The second empire market is characterized by integrating the objectives, hypotheses, results, discussions, conclusions, proposal and prospective.
