Método pilates e investigaciónrevisión de la literatura

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar una revisión de los estudios científicos sobre el método Pilates. Se analizaron un total de 70 publicaciones: 27 artículos teóricos, 2 revisiones bibliográficas, 3 casos clínicos, 1 trabajo descriptivo y 37 de intervención. El mayor número de estudios que aplican el Método Pilates como programa de intervención son los que lo utilizan para el tratamiento del dolor, seguido de los estudios que utilizan el Método Pilates para la mejora de la capacidad aeróbica y el IMC, la flexibilidad y la estabilidad postural. Además, también destaca el número de estudios que analizan el efecto del Método Pilates o de los ejercicios sobre la musculatura abdominal. Con relación a la población utilizada, se observa un mayor número de estudios con personas adultas, seguido de los adultos mayores, niños, adolescentes y deportistas
