Abstract

Between 2019 and 2024, six short-term archaeological campaigns were carried out at Begastri, focusing on the northwestern sector of the site. Visigothic structures superimposed on Roman remains were documented, serving both domestic-productive and fiscal functions. Notable finds include coins, belt buckles associated with royal power, and precision weights. The use of digital techniques such as GIS, along with soil and paleoenvironmental analyses, enabled rigorous documentation, confirming continuous occupation from the Iberian period through the 8th century, with Begastri emerging as a key enclave in the Visigothic territorial reorganization
