Abstract

Different problems associated with our current lifestyle needs novel solutions. The increase of life expectancy also gets higher numbers of cancer patients, or the eventual neurodegeneration of population. So that, the demand for material innovations in modern healthcare technology is increasing exponentially as the knowledge of disease pathologies progresses and evolves with years of scientific research. The same diseases that have existed for centuries are better understood today, giving birth to the concept of nanomedicine in different kinds of diseases. For that reason, in this thesis, we have synthesised and characterized different types of CD based polymers as a non-toxic, biodegradable, and biocompatible carriers to highlight the important design parameters that are necessary for the development of safe and effective materials, for using in drug, nutraceuticals, and gene delivery applications as a single therapeutic agent.
