Abstract
This doctoral thesis constitutes an interdisciplinary study that amalgamates anthropology, art, and sociology to investigate how everyday images and objects transform into instruments laden with cultural and social significance. It offers a unique perspective, rooted both in personal and academic experience, presenting the research as a journey where emotional expression, artistic exploration, and cultural analysis intertwine. In this way, it contributes a new understanding of art and society. By focusing on the transformation of found objects and images into narratives rich in meaning, the thesis not only aims to enrich the field of contemporary art but also to expand the understanding of the social and cultural dynamics that envelop these objects and images. The narrated experience transitions from personal and autobiographical to the description and characterization of the place of integration, capturing both its landscape and the characters that define it. The artistic creation, ranging from the subjective and random to its formalization, addresses diverse themes such as institutions, religion, gender, immigration, education, and art, which shape different realities in significant locations: the La Paz neighborhood in the Murcia Region (Spain); the localities of Usaquén and Santa Fe in Bogotá (Colombia); and in the Tuscany region (Italy), specifically in the Massa Carrara province, where Carrara and Gravagna Montale stand out, localities nestled in the Apuan Alps. This diversity of territories allows for the establishment of the singularities of each space. This cultural fusion is achieved directly on the ground, through immersion in the local community.
