Abstract

In the literature in Lorca, from Middle Ages until Modernism, Al-Andalus has been understood in two ways. On the one hand, in a warlike way. That is, from a fictitious vision about the end of this period and the time as a frontier with the Nazari Kingdom. And on the other hand, as romantic exotism by means of idealization. Literary genres, full of a wide local historiography and also oral tradition, recreate Andalusian Lorca as a favourite subject by its authors, producing a popular impression wich is still present in the collective imagination of the people.
